Charges Rate does include:
- Charges for the number of days of vehicle hire
- Kilometre allowance
- Registration recovery fees (RRF)
- Premium location fees (PLF) where applicable
- Baby seats and baby capsules if selected and paid for at the time of reservation
- GST and a rental administration charge.
Rate does not include:
- Fees for additional kilometres above the allowance (charged at $0.25 per kilometre)
- Rental extensions beyond the agreed return date and time
- Damage liability reduction charges unless selected and paid for at the time of the reservation
- Damage liability fee should the vehicle be damaged during the period of hire
- Credit card fees as detailed in Method of Payment
- Fees for other Red Spot services i.e. Satellite Navigation Systems, Toll Road Passes, Premium Road Side Assistance or refuelling services.
- Under 25 age surcharge
- Additional drivers fee
- Provisional Drivers Licence surcharge
ID required
- When collecting a car we need to see three forms of ID including a valid driver’s licence. Examples of other ID we accept are Medicare Card, passport, credit/charge card, student ID, household electricity statement.
- Your driver’s licence must be in English.
- If your driver’s licence doesn’t include a photo, we need to see alternative photo ID.
- If you have an International Drivers Licence, we don’t need to see this so long as your licence of origin is clearly valid and is recognised as an authentic driver’s licence.
If there’s a delay
- If your flight is delayed we can hold your booking at the airport (so long as the flight number has been given). Once we’ve had word that your flight has landed and you haven’t arrived for your pick-up, we’ll release the booking after 1 hour if other customers need the car.
- At city locations we can hold your booking for 1 hour after the nominated collection time unless you contact us to arrange an alternative pickup time.
Payment Conditions
- To take advantage of a Web Hot Special offer, payment is made at the time of the booking. Web Specials are on a use it or lose it basis. No refunds will be given if vehicles are not collected or returned before the agreed return date and time.
- Web Specials may be altered by giving a minimum of 24 hours notice. Rates will revert to best available if reservations are altered and a $33 (including GST) administration fee applies.
- When collecting a car you must present a valid credit card in your name with sufficient funds to cover the cost of any additional bonds, optional extras, rental extensions or fuel charges. (Minimum $100 and a maximum of $1000 depending on your elected damage and loss liability).
- The same card must be presented as that which was used to book the vehicle. If using a different card, the cardholder must complete a credit/charge card authority form prior to collection. Please contact Redspot central reservations for more information.
- We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club and JCB.
- There is a credit card fee of 1.65% on Visa, MasterCard and a 4.95% credit card fee on Diners, JCB and American Express ( fee is excluded on Driveaway, Business Club rates, and certain prepaid vouchers).
- Cheques – both company and personal – aren’t accepted.
- Cash - Yes, we simply ask for a cash bond (in addition to the rental cost) which will be based on the length of rental and type of car rented. We’ll also ask you to complete a cash qualification form when you’re at the counter. Refunds may take up to 21 days to process. Cash or Eftpos is unable to be refunded at the branch. Refunds can be issued as a cheque posted to an address provided, or direct credited to a nominated bank account. Note that we can, at our discretion, say no to a cash rental request, so it’s best to call ahead.
Rental Period
- Rates are based on a minimum rental period of one day (24-hours from the time the rental starts). At Redspot we allow a 59-minute grace period, after which an extra day will be charged. This includes wholesale (tour voucher) rentals.
Insurance
- Comprehensive Motor Vehicle Insurance including third party and public liability is included in our rates. A loss and damage liability (LDL) may apply. The renter will be fully liable for any damage to the Redspot vehicle and any third party property, if the terms and conditions of the rental agreement are breached.
